Lighting the night without a moon?
The under lit effect of the moon on our character was attractive and atmospheric. Now the moon has be extinguished lighting the boy is necessary but illogical. He must be picked out against the black night but as there is now no light source any lighting seems almost theatrical. As he begins to float from the surface of the dimming moon his stark rim lighting contrasts with the naturalist lighting which has taken us to this point. As I have experiments with shooting him in the naturalistic gloom this sudden surreal presence of light is the only option. As this whole homeward journey will be on shot on black, the sequence relies on the character being well lit in this way.
